Cody Jakbo has hinted he could still leave PSV before the transfer window closes, with a handful of Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.
The winger has been strongly linked with Manchester United, but their interest waned after they signed Ajax’s Anthony, while Southampton are reported to have turned down an offer by Jackpo.
Everton, Leeds and Arsenal have also followed up on Gakpo in recent weeks and the player revealed that he will consider his options in the final days of the window.
Gakpo commented on Anthony’s €100m move to United, saying: “Anthony for Manchester United? A nice thing for him…but for me and my future, I think that has no effect.
“It’s like a puzzle, so in the coming days I’ll see which puzzle works for me – for me, it certainly wouldn’t be a bad idea to stay in Eindhoven. We’ll see.”
PSV coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has admitted that the possibility of the 23-year-old’s departure before the deadline cannot be ruled out.
Van Nistelrooy said: “There have been rumors about him since the start of the season nearly eight weeks ago, and we haven’t seen Cody change his behavior yet.
“He’s not distracted, he’s focused on the games he has to play. For a guy like him, it’s great to see that attitude.”
What does the future hold for Gakpo?
Eindhoven previously held a fee of around 50 million euros for Gakpo but they failed to receive any concrete offers in that area.
It is believed that Eredivise have since lowered their asking price and are looking for at least £25m for a player who still has four years on his contract.
United had the biggest interest in the Dutchman but their priority has always been Anthony and they will likely be out of the race with Jacobo after securing their main man.

Southampton are believed to have targeted Gakpo as their summer signing marquee and made a £21m bid for PSV Eindhoven which was turned down.
Gakpo has already scored three goals and three assists in three league matches so far this season, and PSV Eindhoven are already reported to have lined up Calvin Stings of Nice as a substitute.
