Manchester United have completed the signing of Anthony from Ajax, ending weeks of negotiations and rejecting bids between the two clubs.
The agreed fee is 95 million euros plus 5 million euros in add-ons, the third transfer between Ajax and Manchester United this year after coach Eric Ten Hag and defender Lisandro Martinez.
Anthony was one of Ajax’s most exciting players – something not always reflected in his numbers for goals and assists – and his style on the field will be welcomed by many.
There has been plenty of excitement from supporting Manchester United too, who are looking forward to seeing their new right-wing talent make their mark at Old Trafford.
Fans are looking forward to Anthony’s arrival
Anthony will meet Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, as the duo worked together at the Dutch club between 2020 and 2022.
Ten Hag has overseen the Brazilian’s rise at the Johan Cruyff Arena and helped him become a Brazil international – if the player continues down that path, he will be in the World Cup finals this winter.
It was a busy transfer window for Manchester United: Anthony became their fifth summer signing after Terrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.

A big broom pass to move a lot of players on it, five approved first-team players and a manager in tight control of the dressing room were brought in.
You still have to work – but certainly the best transfer window since Sir Alex retired. pic.twitter.com/2apPx83mKK

Anthony seemed very happy upon his arrival at Carrington. He desperately wanted the move and can’t believe he’s finally a Manchester United player, which explains why he pushed so hard for it.
I am absolutely sure he will give everything for this club. ❤️

No more looking at Salah, Mahrez..and we wish we had a right winger because finally, Manchester United signed with world-class potential. The most exciting thing is that he is only 22 years old.
Welcome to the BIG stage, Anthony ⚡️🇧🇷❤️ pic.twitter.com/jYPiJSqFw5

There is still more work to be done, as the Red Devils look to bring in Martin Dubravka from Newcastle United on loan to challenge David de Gea.
Ten Hag was hugely backed in his first transfer window at the club – the Red Devils spent over €200m in this window alone.
Anthony is the most expensive signing of them all, and becomes the club’s third most expensive player ever after Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.
In terms of the sale, it is also the most expensive Ajax sale ever, as well as the most expensive Eredivisie sale ever, surpassing Frenkie de Jong on both counts, following his move to Barcelona in 2019.
