Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Alexander Isaacs from Real Sociedad.
The deal is worth 60 million pounds (71.2 million euros), and it is now believed that the forward’s move to St James’ Park is imminent.
The move would see the 22-year-old Sweden international join the record-breaking Newcastle signing before then Bruno Guimaraes, who joined the club from Lyon, and Joelinton, who moved from Hoffenheim.

Alexander Isaacs is the perfect forward for the Eddie Howe system of forefoot and high pressure
Isak was previously associated with Arsenal and is considered one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe.
He scored 33 in 105 La Liga games since moving to Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and played for Sweden at Euro 2020 last summer.
In total, he has 9 goals in 37 international matches.
It will become Newcastle’s fourth biggest deal this summer, following the transfers of Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sven Putman.
Eddie Howe sought offensive reinforcements and his desire for reinforcements increased at the top of the field with Callum Wilson set to check in for a hamstring injury.
What kind of player is Isaac?
Athletic data analyst Mark Carey profiles Isak using data from smarterscout:
“Isaac has often played as a lone striker in 4-2-3-1 for Real Sociedad, but he can also play in a strike partnership.
“He likes to run with the ball – note his carrying and dribbling of 97 out of 99 – and receives the ball in advanced areas, and is usually quick to shoot the ball far.
“He underperformed against xG last season, having underperformed a bit in 2020-21, but he likes to catch the ball in those half-space channels and drive centrally from wide.”
