FIFA 23 will be released on 30 September and player ratings for the FIFA Ultimate Team mode have been officially revealed.
The best players in FIFA 23 have been announced, with ratings for the best players in the game released to the public before the official launch of the game. Players can be rated up to 99, with each player receiving an overall rating as well as ratings in categories such as pace, shooting and defending.
So far, EA Sports have released ratings for the top 23 players in the game, with these players confirmed as the best in the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode. EA have also announced certain player ratings via a top 15 list of players in the Bundesliga, Premier League and La Liga. However, a full list of player ratings hasn’t yet been revealed.
Real Madrid and Ballon d’Or favourite Karim Benzema is one of five stars who are tied for the title of the highest overall rated player, while PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Chelsea Women forward Sam Kerr are the cover stars of the game.
EA Sports, the game developers of FIFA 23, have rewarded Benzema for his impressive 2021/22 season by boosting his overall rating by two; the Frenchman is now rated 91.
Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski and PSG duo Lionel Messi and Mbappe are also rated 91.
Messi has lost his title of the sole highest-rated player in the game after dropping from 93 rating in FIFA 22 to a 91 rating in FIFA 23. Poland international Lewandowksi has also been demoted, dropping from 92 to 91 rated. De Bruyne and Mbappe have kept their rating from FIFA 22.

Kevin de Bruyne is 91 rated in FIFA 23, while Erling Haaland is 88 rated
There are five players rated 90, including Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who has dropped one rating from FIFA 22. His 90 rated card is his lowest base card at the start of any FIFA since 2011 when he was 89 rated at Real Madrid.
Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also 90 rated, along with Thibaut Courtois and Manuel Neuer, who are the highest-rated goalkeepers. It means that 10 players are rated 90 or above, a drop from 11 last year.
Like his PSG team-mate Messi, Neymar has also been demoted two ratings and his base card for FIFA 23 is rated 89. Tottenham Hotspur stars Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak are tied with Neymar with an overall rating of 89. Manchester United’s Casemiro, Manchester City’s Ederson, Liverpool’s Alisson, and Bayern Munich pair Sadio Mane and Joshua Kimmich are also rated 89 as well.
Marquinhos, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are both rated 88, along with four Manchester City players – Erling Haaland, Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva.
Antonio Rudiger and Frenkie de Jong are among five players rated 87, while Christopher Nkunku has jumped up five ratings to 86 after his excellent 2021/22 campaign. Patrik Schick has also received a big increase – moving up six ratings to 85.
The full player rating list is yet to be revealed.
