The Portuguese legend returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2021 in a surprise transfer from Juventus in the final days of the window.
Although he has enjoyed an impressive season individually, Manchester United as a team has endured a dismal campaign.

Cristiano’s future is currently in great doubt as he has submitted a transfer request, but he is still at Old Trafford as the transfer window approaches.
Ronaldo began playing off the bench during Manchester United’s first Premier League game of the season on August 7 against Brighton at Old Trafford.
It was introduced early in the second half with United trailing 2-0 and despite helping inspire a much-improved performance after the break, the Red Devils still lost 2-1.
The worst was to follow a week later, though. Man United traveled to Brentford anticipating their first win of the season. Instead, they were defeated 4-0, and Ronaldo was powerless to stop the slip. He then left Ronaldo on the bench to score a home win over Liverpool, the kind of match he enjoyed playing in, raising questions about his future at Old Trafford once again.
Against Southampton away from home, Ronaldo was left on the bench again, but was brought in and struggled to make an impact.
He was hit early, with a knee problem, but recovered to play the rest of the match.
