Anthony refused to play for Ajax in forcing a €100m move to Manchester United, and now Everton target Mohamed Kudus has taken inspiration from the Brazilian winger.
“It’s not good. It’s a shame it happened,” Ajax coach Alfred Schroeder said of Anthony before the Dutch champions meet Kambur on Saturday. “Personally, I think it’s a bad thing. I think this is weird. It was talked about at the end [going on strike].
“If you are in Ajax, it is unfortunate that this happens, I understand if you are disappointed for a day or two, but you are also a professional. But in a few days you will understand what is going on. Then I will just continue with the guys who are there.”

Unfortunately for Schroeder, he now has the same situation with Kudus, after the club rejected Everton’s bid for the 22-year-old Ghana international midfielder.
“Muhammad Kodes is following Anthony’s lead in forcing a move and refusing to train on Wednesday,” reports Mike Ferroy of De Telegraaf.
“The midfielder has agreed to personal terms with Everton, who wants to buy it from Ajax, but the Amsterdam team refuses to cooperate.”
Martinez does not go overboard with his words
Marc Overmars left the club who reportedly left Jerry Hamstra exposed in his role as manager. Verweij continues that Lisandro Martinez told Hamstra that he was “nobody” before his 66mm move to United in July.
Ajax players have already bled this summer. In addition to the departure of Anthony and Martinez to Old Trafford, Sebastian Haller, top scorer last season, went to Borussia Dortmund for 34.5 million euros, while another promising midfielder, Ryan Gravenburch, joined Bayern for 23 million euros.
Steven Bergwijn and Calvin Basie of Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers have been recruited respectively, while RB Leipzig’s Brian Bruby is back, but Schroeder and co will have to quickly take over the dressing room.
