Manchester United and Barcelona are working on a swap deal that would see the trade of each club’s right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Sergino Dest.
Both clubs have been looking to part with their players and this could be a fitting deal for the pair of clubs, which could interest them in a late move.
The Red Devils want a new right-back to provide competition for Diogo Dalot, and Erik ten Hag has already worked with Dest before, when the duo were at Ajax before Barcelona bought the American player in 2020.
Wan-Bissaka, meanwhile, is one of five right-backs who earlier targeted Barcelona out the window, along with other players such as Villarreal’s Juan Foyth.
Both managers are open for a new Ayman to appear
Dalot, Manchester United’s current first choice, made a great start to the season, contributing to a 1-0 win over Southampton over the weekend.
Tin Hag still wants to add more depth and doesn’t feel Wan-Bissaka fit the style of football he would like to implement over his time at Barcelona.
Getting another right-back was a key priority with Ten Hag at the start of the season, along with at least a new striker and a new midfielder.

Meanwhile, Barcelona also want to bolster their full-back position, having been exhausted in both regions before this season.
They have had to use the likes of Ronald Araujo and Jules Conde in this role in their opening games of the season to make up for the lack of quality in this aspect, and this is wasting their best talent in the center of defence.
Xavi is willing to leave Dest, leaving him out of the match-day squad at the start of the season, which was a clear indication that he awaits offers from other clubs for the player.
Getting a swap deal at this late stage of the window would be very difficult, and while a deal seems unlikely, it’s still a possibility.
